Kyle St. John
Long before Kyle went viral snowboarding down the Ravenel Bridge over the Cooper River, Kyle had begun his love affair with Charleston. His first trip to the city was for a sailing event where his high school team competed against other regional teams in the river under the same bridge.
After an international career in luxury hospitality with assignments in Panama, Santorini and Africa, he came back to Charleston to open the boutique Luttrell Hotel, as Assistant General Manager. In this role, Kyle was directly responsible for guest experiences and over the course of its first year of operations took property to the number one rated hotel in Charleston on TripAdvisor. From the Luttrell, he was recruited as Operations Manager for Charleston Culinary Tours where he learned a great deal about the amazing restaurant and bar scene in the city. In the process, he developed personal relationships with many of the key players in the hospitality industry and along the way became a Certified Charleston Tour Guide.
Kyle made the decision to build his own company offering private curated tours for visitors wishing to have a greater insight into Charleston.
Dana Moore
Dana and Kyle first met at the Luttrell, where Dana was retained to provide personalized private tours for the property’s guests. Over time, the two became good friends, and it was with Dana’s encouragement that Kyle took the time and energy to earn his status as a Certified Charleston Tour Guide.
Dana is a dynamic storyteller and certified tour guide who brings Charleston’s rich history to life with energy and flair. Since 2015, Dana has led more that 10,000 tours, weaving her love for food, history and performance into unforgettable experiences for visitors around the globe. Her passion and expertise make every tour an adventure through Charleston’s vibrant past and present.
As the vice president of the Charleston Tour Association, Dana is at the forefront of sharing the charm and culture of the Holy City. With a background in education and theater from James Madison University, and a master’s degree from Austin Peay State University, she spent over a decade inspiring students in North and South Carolina as a dedicated educator.
Dale Moffitt
Dale is a graduate of TWR Hotel School in Johannesburg, South Africa and earned a Master Certificate in Hospitality Management from Cornell University. Beginning with a three-year formal internship at one of South Africa’s most acclaimed five-star hotels; Dale has over 20 years of professional hospitality experience in luxury properties and ships.
Rising through a series of progressively responsible positions, Dale has perfected his skills as a silver service waiter, restaurant manager, chief concierge, front office manager, lodge manager and ultimately general manager of a luxury boutique hotel. Perhaps his most impactful role was to build the concierge program on The World, where he developed tours and programs around the planet for some of the most discerning travelers anywhere.
Kyle first worked with Dale at the luxury boutique hotel, Villa Camilla, in Pedasi, Panama. Dale and Kyle again joined forces as the opening team at Iconic Santorini, where they established a new level of guest experiences. The property was named Greece’s Leading Boutique Hotel and later Best Boutique Hotel on a Global Level twice under their leadership.
